oh, Henri. You may recognize this adorable little boy since this is the third time I’ve photographed him. Now just over one year old he’s less baby and more toddler but still as cute as can be. It’s always a pleasure to get together with him and his family for a session, and this time we set up at the gardens of the Eastman House. The light was gorgeous at around 6:00 when we shot these and I used my 50mm 1.2 for all of them. I love the result and if you’ve been thinking about it, yes you can have pictures like this too… but you’ll have to contact me first. As hard as it is to schedule a time for a session it’s a lot harder to document moments that happened in the past.

Henri is adventurous, and decided he wanted to climb a tree… so we let him.

Talk about personality. Norah had tons of it which really showed up in all of the photographs. I met up with Norah and her family in Rochester at Highland park and we went over to the Warner Castle and used their gardens for a great location. It was a crisp fall day and although the leaves weren’t completely turned the bright green and yellow gave us some beautiful color to incorporate. You’ve probably noticed I do like to incorporate color in any setting or situation and use it to my advantage in composing photos. Composing? I’m referring to the composition of the photo -  you know, how you arrange everything within a frame and where you choose to place people, things, and even color… there’s quite a lot of decisions to make when you really break it down. see what I mean? Some of the best shots are the candid moments that happen in between shooting something a little more posed. I love this interaction.
