Here’s the place where I answer the most asked questions – and if you think I’m missing something, let me know and I’ll update this.
1. Do you give people the high resolution images?
Yes, with weddings the disc of images is included. These images are not watermarked or resized, and are yours to print to your hearts content as long as they are for personal use. For portrait sessions, the disc can be purchased and added to a package.
2. What should I wear?
Good questions! For any kind of portrait session, it’s best to have options. I don’t mind helping you decide if you want to bring a few outfits or send me pictures before hand. This is always a hard question because everyone is different – some people have a unique style that I wouldn’t want to change while others need all the advice they can get. I would recommend keeping it simple and staying away from crazy patterns and competing colors. I would also suggest not wearing the exact same thing, but working with color to have cohesion between people.
3. I know I want to book you for my wedding, but what happens next?
Hooray! I’m so excited to shoot your wedding. In order to reserve the day, contact me and I will send you a contract with all of the details of your photography package. Then, you’ll just need to mail that back to me with the deposit (appx. 1/3 of total price) and the date is yours! The rest of your payment is due a week before the wedding, unless we work out a different arrangement.
4. Do you work alone at weddings?
I do generally work alone at weddings, although I leave it open in my contract for me to bring along an assistant when it works out for me to do so. A second photographer can be requested and will give you additional coverage on your wedding day and added perspective.
5. How long does it take for my pictures to be finished?
This should probably be higher on the list, since most people want to know when everything will be done. The editing and completion of the images is a significant amount of time for a wedding and I’m currently working on a 3 month turn around. I hope change things after December so that all weddings shot in 2010 will have a 1 month turn around (or less!) and you can receive everything even sooner.
Portrait shoots are generally posted within 1.5 to 2 weeks after the shoot and are available for online viewing and ordering. Portrait gallerys are active for three weeks while wedding galleries are active for three months.
