1. How long have you been a photographer?
2011 is my fourth year in business as a photographer – hooray! On average I photograph 25 weddings a year.
2. Do you give people the high resolution images?
Yes, with weddings the disc of images is included. You will also have all of your images posted in an online gallery so that you, your family + friends can purchase professional prints. To ensure quality printing I suggest ordering prints through me as they are archival quality and created at a professional lab.
3. I know I want to book you for my wedding, but what happens next?
I’m so excited to shoot your wedding. In order to reserve the day, contact me and I will send you a contract with all of the details of your photography package. Then, you’ll just need to mail that back to me with the deposit (appx. 40% of the total package) and the date is yours! The rest of your payment is due a week before the wedding, unless we work out a different arrangement.
4. Do you work alone at weddings?
Yes, I often shoot weddings on my own, however 50% of the time I am accompanied by a second shooter. This is not included in every wedding package although it can easily be added. After learning more about the wedding you are planning I’d be happy to consult you on if I think it is a necessary addition or not.
5. Who are your second shooters?
Each wedding season I have a number of different photographers that agree to accompany me to weddings based on their availability. Since I do not have a dedicated second shooter, I cannot guarantee who will accompany me to your wedding. However, I can guarantee that the second shooter is someone that I trust and am comfortable working with on your wedding day.
6. How long does it take for my pictures to be finished?
The editing and completion of the images is approximately 1 month for a wedding. A few images will be posted immediately after the wedding for you to share until the rest are done and posted on my proofing site. Album design and production is approximately 6-8 weeks.
Portrait shoots are generally posted within 1.5 to 2 weeks after the shoot and are available for online viewing and ordering. Portrait galleries are active for three weeks while wedding galleries are active for three months.
7. What should I wear to a portrait or engagement session?
Clothes can definitely change the way you feel about yourself so wear something that will give you confidence and it will show in the pictures. Put the time into your outfit and appearance so that you feel good about how you look; this often means dressing up a little or having an outfit with a few more accessories + details. Also, it’s best to have options. In engagement sessions couples often have 2 different outfits and this allows for more variety in pictures and dress. I don’t mind helping you decide if you want to bring a few outfits or send me pictures before hand. I would recommend keeping it simple and staying away from crazy patterns and competing colors. I would also suggest not wearing the exact same thing, but working with color to have cohesion between people.
