night engagement session : Margaret + Luke vol. II

Welcome to the second part of Margaret + Luke’s Rochester engagement session, the night portion. I had been wanting to do this for a while, but it involved a lot of set up and was harder to pull off, which is why you haven’t seen it earlier. On that note, if I have any couples who want to do something similar – I would love to! We’ll just have to figure out the logistics.

For this night engagement session, we kept our picnic set up and strung up some lights for something more romantic. Long exposures and light writing completed the set of photos, and let me tell you it took multiple tries for Margaret to write love backwards for the camera – but it was worth it! I love this romantic set and we created a fun save the date for M+L where they wrote out the numbers for their date.

take 2 of the heart shot… two of many :) Save the date for 10.2.10 and can’t wait to see you then!

Liz Petit - THIS. IS. SO. COOL. I’d also like to know where your sister got those lights, I’d love to put them up somewhere in my apartment. Good luck with the move!

Nita - What a creative couple/photographer team! I love the two sessions and posts because not only are the sets complimentary to one another with the vibrant colors and contrasting moods (I feel like the night lighting makes it sort of dreamy) – but the sessions somehow enhance each other.

Who knows – maybe I’m full of it and it’s as simple as “Wow.”

sarbob - seriously, can it get any better? what an amazing save the date! how funny about having to write “love” backwards….I didn’t even think about it, but in the end she did a great job writing backwards – looks effortless! and I love how Mema’s quilt took center stage – it makes the pictures look so cozy and timeless because of the beautiful quilt, I think… fantastic job! i want a shoot like this!

Molly - Fabuloso! Light painting is one of my favorite techniques so I am totally in love with this shoot! The blanket adds such great vibrancy and color to the photos. You mentioned Margaret is quite artistic, did she make it?
