a walking tour of DC: Dave + Maria’s engagement

It was another rainy day in the district. Some might call things off and wait for a better day – a viable option – but rainy days shouldn’t be dismissed. They create an ambiance that is unique to other days. Huddled underneath their umbrella Dave and Maria kept each other warm and dry and did their best to dodge the drops coming their way. Don’t let that fool you – the rain didn’t stop them from having fun either. As we walked around on part of the walking tour we had planned for the day, the skies cleared up and they were safe to venture out from under umbrellas.

Over at the District of Columbia war memorial we had a bit of shelter until the rain really let up. It was tucked away just off the mall so we could avoid the usual crowds.

The cherry blossoms had begun to bloom so were were able to incorporate another DC landmark into the photos, and it just looks gorgeous. I’m really tempted to make a trip over for the Cherry Blossom Festival.

We saved the best for last. There’s nothing like a good old fashioned stomp in a puddle, like what you did as a kid. I’m so glad I was able to spend some time in DC with Dave and Maria as it’s always a fun place to visit. I’m really looking forward to their wedding in October and will bring you more of their story then!

meg - color, horizontal cherry blossom is one i feel i would have framed in a heart beat. these all look great–nice incorporation with the rain! the puddle stomp and the first, big pillar vertical one of the war memorial are fantastic as well. nice work! and the kiss under the umbrella ones–there are too many to pin point. i can just imagine the b&g’s reactions of awe when they get to see what you came up with after your day with them. who wouldn’t love photos like these?

Margaret B. - I really love the shot on the right in the middle row where she is hugging his back, head on his shoulder and he’s leaning back slightly. The light and color is fantastic and somehow I feel these expressions are natural for the bride & groom. So sweet.
