the rainy wedding

It’s true: Nick and Anna-Lee’s wedding had the most challenging weather with non stop rain from about 9 in the morning on. They obviously had to change plans with the outdoor ceremony, but other than that they didn’t let the weather stop them from having fun and celebrating their wedding day! I don’t even think I can describe how patient they were – weddings can be a stressful day, and when you have other things factoring in it can be easy to let it get to you – but not with these two.

It was convenient that their church was set up for the reception, and everyone could sit at the tables to watch the ceremony. There was lots of family in attendance, and everyone helped out to make things happen – I know the homemade food {traditional Lebanese fare} was eaten right up, even though it wasn’t in short supply.

After the ceremony, Nick, Anna, and I snuck out to find some good locations for a photoshoot of just them. We headed to a nearby park and overlook, and this is what happened:

(this has to be one of my favorite form the year! it’s so romantic I absolutely love it)

You might not be able to tell except in the photo below, but the umbrella was very necessary! As you can imagine I was on the other side of the camera juggling everything while trying to not get wet!

We found some fun places at and around the park, and honestly I’m going to take some pictures next time to show you what the locations look like- it’s nothing fancy, but with the right framing and cropping it looks great!

After braving the weather outside {it was worth it though} we went to warm up at a coffee shop, and of course I kept taking pictures! It was full when we walked in so it was we got a great reception to the bride and groom.

Yum! hot chocolate. We finally ended our adventure just across the street in a phone booth- yes they still have some of those – and headed back to the reception to join the rest of the party.

Although I wasn’t at the reception for long I was there to capture them being hoisted into the air, which I think is the perfect note to end on for this post as well. I had a great adventure documenting Nick & Anna’s wedding, and I was happy to be able to be a part of it. I wish you two all the best, and hope you have a Merry Christmas on your first Christmas together!
