I’ve been gone for a while but it’s good to be back! I’ve spent the last few days with the cross country team that I assist with at the national meet out in Wisconsin. I think most of you know that I’ve been involved in running for a while as and athlete and now also a coach – I’m kind of more of the practice coach, since I do the workouts-good for the runners and of course for me! Well this year we had a great season, and although the teams didn’t make it to nationals, we had 6 individuals (3 men, 3women) who did.
The national meet is pretty crazy, with over 350 runners in both the men’s and women’s fields, and as you can see that means a lot of runners pretty much the whole way. I was happy to be able to document the race in between my enthusiastic screams to “StAY StROnG!” and “USe yOUR ARMS!” (yes, cheering is an art).

this is one of my favorites :]

Dan did amazing and finished 13th! It couldn’t have been a better end to the season, especially being a senior. Okay, I had fun taking pictures at the finish line as well, since there’s nothing like it. Honestly you can be passed by 10 people in the last ten meters if you slow down. You can see the build up in these photos, with the line going back all the way to the mat.

Yes, you have to claim your place in line – but don’t worry, the girl who’s passed out should get her spot since her chip would have registered crossing the line :] Well it should be another fun week with Thanksgiving coming! I’ll be heading to Detroit with Matt to spend time with my family! I can’t wait – and don’t worry I won’t be mia from here during that time.
