I think you can tell that Marianne and Derek were naturals… I mean, just look at that photo, it’s fabulous and probably my favorite from the shoot. A few weeks ago I was able to meet up with them at Heron Hill – where they are having their wedding next summer – to get familiar with the location and most importantly take some engagement pictures. They came back to their hometown for a weekend from South Carolina so I was happy that we had the chance to do the shoot.
I loved hearing about how their lives crossed paths before it brought them together. Marianne and Derek first met in play group when they were 5, but they didn’t go to the same school so it wasn’t until their senior year that they started dating. I wonder if there are any photos from play group… :]
It’s obvious when you are around them that they’re perfect for each other… they’re both laid back and of course, in love!! it doesn’t get better than that.
Nothing like practicing dance moves in the vineyards!
The finger lakes are gorgeous! I’d recommend the location to anyone who is looking for a place to have their wedding in western New York.
Save the date for the 4th of July! I had a great time at Heron Hill with you guys and I look forward to capturing your wedding next summer… enjoy these photos until then.
